Samsung announced on September 14, 2026 that it and Verizon completed a crowd-sensing trial at an international soccer fan event in Dallas, Texas.

The system used changes in wireless signals to estimate crowd density and produce a near-real-time heatmap, according to Samsung’s announcement. The approach is called Integrated Sensing and Communication, or ISAC.
