VAIO’s new T series is now available to order in Japan, bringing a flip-style touchscreen to a compact Windows laptop. Its headline options include up to 64GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD—but buyers should pay attention to the configuration behind those numbers.
A screen that changes how you use the laptop
The T series uses VAIO’s multi-flip mechanism to switch between notebook, tablet and view modes. You can type normally, turn the screen into a touch-focused tablet, or position it for watching content and showing work to someone across a desk.
VAIO’s Japanese store lists the machine as a Copilot+ PC and offers a launch discount of ¥33,000 through December 1, 2026, at 9:59 a.m. Japan time. See the official VAIO Store listing.
The key hardware at a glance

What the 18-hour battery claim actually means
VAIO rates the optional high-capacity battery for approximately 16.5–18 hours of video playback under JEITA 3.0 testing. The standard battery is rated at approximately 11.5–12.5 hours. Actual runtime depends on the configuration, applications and settings, so the headline figure is not a promise of 18 hours of everyday work.
Price and availability
Notebookcheck reports a starting price of ¥341,000 including tax before the launch discount, with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD. It also reports that the Core Ultra 5 model tops out at 32GB RAM; reaching 64GB requires the Core Ultra 7 version. The larger battery costs an additional ¥11,000.
No international launch has been announced, according to that report. For US readers, this is currently a Japan-market launch, with no confirmed US price or release date.
