HomeClaw Max puts AI-assisted smart-home setup in the spotlight—but the details matter

A new crowdfunding push promises easier Home Assistant automation. The existing HomeClaw product shows the appeal, while model differences and delivery remain important.

LinknLink’s HomeClaw Max drew new coverage on September 18, 2026, as a crowdfunding project combining Home Assistant with AI-agent software. The proposal addresses a familiar smart-home difficulty: connecting devices is only the beginning; creating and maintaining useful automations can take considerable work.

What the company is trying to simplify

Notebookcheck’s report describes a Max system intended to use OpenClaw or Hermes agents to assist with setup and automation. It reports an October shipping target through crowdfunding. We could not independently inspect the campaign’s full reward details, so we are not presenting a verified preorder price or guaranteed delivery date.

LinknLink’s separate, existing HomeClaw product page confirms the broader approach: Home Assistant Container, AI-agent integration and additional management tools. The company describes backup and migration features, an add-on manager and software rollback support. Those details concern the existing product and must not be assumed to define every Max configuration.

The meaningful test is control

Natural-language setup could make automation more approachable. But a system that changes lights, heating or other devices needs predictable behavior, clear permissions and a way to recover from mistakes. A successful demonstration does not establish reliability across a household’s complete collection of devices.

Local control also deserves precision. Running a home-automation hub in the house does not, by itself, prove that every connected service or AI request remains offline. The model, integrations and account settings determine the complete data path.

Keep the models separate

This is analysis of the newly reported project and its broader approach, not a hands-on review or confirmation that the Max is shipping. Before backing it, buyers should verify the final hardware, supported integrations, AI-service costs and refund terms directly with the seller.
