Oppo Find N2 Flip Smartphone Review

Everyone and their granny owned a flip phone in the early 2000s. It’s a bigger concern now that smartphones are there because it requires bending the display. It is therefore understandable why Oppo chose that name specifically for its first foldable device to be offered globally, the Find N2 Flip, which we are presenting to you today. This cutting-edge device features the latest gadgets and widgets, including a foldable AMOLED display, a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset, and high-quality camera specs.

The Oppo Find N2 Flip boasts a sleek and slim body, measuring 166.2×75.2×7.5mm and weighing 191g. It features a large foldable 6.8″ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, and high brightness of 1200 nits (HBM) and 1600 nits (peak), with a resolution of 1080×2520 pixels and a 21:9 aspect ratio, providing an immersive visual experience. Additionally, it comes with a 3.26″ cover display with 720 x 382 pixels and a brightness of 800 nits (HBM) and 900 nits (peak). In the battle of the Flips, the N2 Flip competes against the Z Flip4 while the large(ish) Find N2 remains exclusive to its native market.

The Found N2 Flip is similar to the Galaxy in many ways, yet it diverges in a few crucial ways. The cover display, a sizable 3.26″ screen that offers more options and uses cases than the Galaxy’s diminutive 1.9″ screen, is what stands out the most. It is significantly larger than the external screen’s 2.7″ size of the Motorola Razr 2022.

Powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 9000+ chipset and Mali-G710 MC10 GPU, the device is available in three memory configurations: 256GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 12GB RAM, and 512GB 16GB RAM, all featuring UFS 3.1 storage. It runs on the latest Android 13 operating system and ColorOS 13.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Oppo Find N2 Flip features a 50MP wide (main) camera with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF, along with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and 112-degree field of view. For selfies, it has a 32MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture and AF. It supports 4K video recording at 30/60fps, 1080p at 30/60/240fps on the rear camera, and 1080p at 30fps on the front camera. For what it’s worth on a device that doesn’t necessarily need a “selfie” camera, the Find does sport what appears to be the highest-specced selfie camera of the three.

The Oppo Find N2 Flip is equipped with a 4300mAh battery, with support for 44W wired charging and reverse wired charging. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint reader and stereo speakers, making it an excellent option for users who prioritize performance, display quality, and camera capabilities. In addition to boasting the largest battery among its competitors, the Find’s charging specifications offer some of the fastest top-ups in the market. Stereo speakers are a given, but it’s important to note that the Galaxy Flip is still the only device in this area with a real IPX8 rating; the Find isn’t waterproof, at least not officially.

Oppo Find N2 Flip unboxing

Despite its diminutive size, the Find N2 Flip ships in the same box as the Find N2 normal, with the exception that its livery is off-white rather than off-black (gray, some call it). The phone lifts up towards you when the lid is opened thanks to the same kinetic design that is also present here.

The interior likewise contains the same items as the package containing the larger phone. At least in theory; obviously, the situation is different. For each half of the Found, we received a pair of transparent hard plastic snap-on covers. Because it features the largest exterior display on the market, the top half has an absurdly large cutout for the outer display.

Since the charger and the accompanying cable are identical, the Flip actually comes with a 67W adaptor even though it is only capable of 44W charging.
